Join us for two talks in one and learn about Gordon Parks and the formative decade that launched his photographic career.

Event Details

Philip Brookman, curator of the Gordon Parks: The New Tide, Early Work 1940–1950 exhibition from the National Gallery of Art, will share behind-the-scenes stories about organizing the show, including his personal relationship with Parks. Before Brookman’s presentation, Frederick W. Gooding Jr., Assistant Professor in the Honors College of TCU, will give a brief introduction about what was going on in the African American community during this important time. Both speakers will share the stage after their talks for a short discussion and Q&A.

Seating is limited; advanced registration is recommended. Registration opens October 1.
