The School of Church Music and Worship at Southwestern Seminary will be presenting an evening of Christmas music from a variety of genres. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
Event Details
The School of Church Music and Worship is looking forward to presenting an evening of beautiful music on Friday night, November 12 in the MacGorman Performing Arts Center on the campus of The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The theme of the concert is “Prelude to Christmas,” and will feature SCMW faculty and students performing a kaleidoscope of musical genres. From the classic sounds of Vivaldi’s Gloria to the jazz-influenced harmonies voiced by the new Southwestern A Cappella, from an array of multiple grand pianos played by Doctor of Musical Arts students, to the intimacy of solo voice and classical guitar, the Prelude to Christmas concert is being presented with the specific purpose to help prepare hearts to celebrate the Incarnation – the birth of Jesus Christ – Emmanuel – God with us.
