Every two years, the Texas Legislature convenes for a 140-day regular legislative session. The 86th Texas Legislature will begin on January 8, 2019 and is scheduled to conclude on May 27, 2019. Important issues like Spending, Taxes, Local Government, Education, Energy, Environment, Water, Health Care, Criminal Justice, Property Rights, and Government Reform will all take center stage.

Luncheon presenter Chris Wallace is President & CEO of the North Texas Commission, a unique public-private partnership dedicated to advancing large impactful projects and legislative advocacy benefiting North Texas, a robust 13-county region. Prior to joining the North Texas Commission, Chris was President/COO of the Texas Association of Business, the state chamber of commerce where he managed the organization’s statewide team responsible for legislative advocacy and strategy as well as overall operations.
Chris also spent 10 years as President/CEO of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber, the first national Five-Star Accredited Chamber in Texas, where he managed the Irving Economic Development Partnership. He is among only 570 executives in the nation who have earned their CCE (Certified Chamber Executive) designation. He also serves on the national board of the Business & Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) and on the Texas Advisory Committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.
He is a 1992 graduate of Texas Tech University and serves as a member of the Texas Tech Chancellor's Council and previously on the Professional Advisory Board of the College of Media and Communication where he was named an outstanding alumnus in 2008.
